Lydia Jane (1) Hogger was born in 1852 to parents James (3) Hogger and his wife Sarah (nee) Snell [Birth Index: Cosford 4a 363, 1852 (Sept)]. The GRO reference spells her surname as "Hoggar". She was christened on September 12th 1852 at Lavenham [PR: Cosford DB].

The 1861 Census finds her at age "8" living with her parents in Church Street, Lavenham.

The 1871 Census finds her at age "18" and unmarried, still living with her parents in Church Street where she was occupied as a dressmaker.

The 1881 Census finds her unmarried and living with her sister Emily (1)'s family at the High Street in Hadleigh. The record misspells her surname as "Huggan".

The 1891 Census finds her unmarried and living with her married sister Susanna Phoebe (1) in the High Street, Hadleigh. The record misspells her surname as "Hoggar". She was occupied as a dressmaker.

She remained unmarried and died suddenly in 1895 [Death Index: Cosford 4a 530, 1895 (March)]. She died on March 27th 1895 at Hadleigh and was buried at Lavenham cemetery in Grave No. 795 on April 2nd 1895 [PR: Cosford DB]. These records cite her age inaccurately as "40".
