Martha (1) Hogger was born to parents Bartholomew (3) Hogger and his wife Martha (nee) Lemon. She was christened on June 4th 1813 at Monks Eleigh [PR: Cosford DB].

She married a carpenter John (1) Warren on November 20th 1835 at Monks Eleigh; he was the son of Zachariah Warren and his wife Jemima (nee) Underwood and was christened on May 5th 1808 at Monks Eleigh [PR: Cosford DB]. His sister Ann married Martha (1)'s brother William Lemon (1).

The 1841 Census finds Martha (1) with John (1) and two children living in Church Street, Monks Eleigh where John (1) was occupied as a joiner. Also present was her cousin Ellen (1) aged "14" and occupied as a servant.

The 1851 Census finds Martha (1) aged "37" with John (1) and four children living in the High Street, Monks Eleigh where John (1) was occupied as a cabinet maker. Also present was John (1)'s brother Alfred Warren aged "22" and occupied as a shoe maker.

The next decade was a tragic one for John (1), apparently bringing the deaths of at least four, and possibly all, of his children followed by the death of his wife.

Martha (1) died in 1859 [Death Index: Cosford 4a 281, 1859 (June)].

The 1861 Census finds John (1) widowed at age "53" living in High Street, Monks Eleigh where he was occupied as a cabinet maker. Also present was his married sister Mary Ann Ladbrook aged "44", occupied as a housekeeper. There were no children with him.
