William (6) Hogger was born to parents Thomas (3) Hogger and his first wife Mary Anne (nee) Hill, and was christened on December 11th 1831 at Milden [PR: Cosford DB]. In various census records, however, he gave his birthplace as Brent Eleigh, Suffolk.

His children by Amelia Ramplin

  1. William (9) Hogger
  2. George (3) Hogger
  3. Robert (3) Hogger - [Birth Index: Cosford 4a 449, 1860 (March)], christened March 25th 1860
  4. Harry (2) Hogger - [Birth Index: Cosford 4a 448, 1862 (June)], christened June 15th 1862

The first child above was christened at Lavenham and the other three at Brent Eleigh.

The 1861 Census finds Robert (3) at age "1" living with his parents at Brent Eleigh. The 1881 Census appears to find him lodging at 13, Matilda Street, Islington in the household of a grocer's assistant Alfred Warren and occupied as a farm labourer. The schedule gives his age as "26" - probably an enumeration error - and his birthplace as Brent Eleigh. In 1884 he married Sarah Ann Luxon [Marriage Index: St. Saviour 1d 182, 1884 (Sept)]. She was born in Topsham, Devon around early 1849 [Birth Index: St. Thomas 10 277, 1849 (March) - indexed as "Luxton"]. The 1851 Census finds her aged "2" living there with her parents Thomas Luxon, a fisherman, and Martha. The 1881 Census finds her living at 9, Maclise Road, Kensington in London where she was occupied as a cook in the household of William M. Young, a retired Secretary of the London Chartered Bank of Australia. The 1891 Census finds Robert (3) and Sarah Ann - with no children - living at 78, Denmark Road in Camberwell where he was occupied as a builder's yard foreman. The 1901 Census finds them, again with no children, living at 82, Moncrieff Street in Camberwell where he was occupied as a builder's manager. The 1911 Census finds them living at 87, Victoria Road in Peckham where he was occupied as a foreman to a builder's merchant. Their census form confirms that they had produced no children. He died aged "54" in 1914 [Death Index: Camberwell 1d 982, 1914 (March)].

Like his mother, Harry (2) died in early 1863 [Death Index: Cosford 4a 309, 1863 (March)]. He was buried at age "8 months" on January 29th at St. Mary's in Brent Eleigh [PR: Cosford DB : National Burial Index].
