He married around 1897 to a woman named Mary V. whose maiden name is currently unknown.
The US 1900 Census finds him living with Mary at 221, South 12th Street in Richmond, occupied as a roof slater. He is described as born in July 1873 in Indiana, and she as born in October 1878 in Ohio.
The US 1920 Census finds him living with Mary in Richmond City, occupied as a sheet metal worker in his own shop. In this record his age is slightly understated as "44" and his parents' birthplaces are wrongly given as Indiana.
He subsequently remarried. An internet gedcom record [RootsWeb WorldConnect Project] states that he married Grace Stubbs, and that Grace was born in Preble County, Ohio to parents Alden Stubbs (born about 1845) and his wife Mary S. (nee) Conarroe (born March 30th 1848 in Butler County, Ohio).
A relative's report states that Charles died at Richmond on October 28th 1943.
The American Social Security Death Index records that Grace was born on January 28th 1893 and died in September 1981. Her SSN had been 311-26-9292. She had been residing in Richmond at an address having a zip code identical to that given in the SSDI record of her unmarried sister-in-law Mary L. Woodhurst. The above-cited RootsWeb record states that she died on September 2nd 1981.
