Brief biography

Elizabeth (1) Woodus was born to parents Andrew (1) Woodus and his wife Ann(e). She was christened on April 20th 1709 [Fairlight Parish Register].

She married John Crampe at St. Clements, Hastings on February 21st 1726 [IGI]. That her married name was Crampe is confirmed in Andrew (1)'s will. Some sources give 1725 as the year of her marriage in accordance with the pre-1752 Julian calendar. An uncorroborated IGI ancestral file [AFN:9VPD-HH] suggests she may have been living in Westfield parish - a few miles north of Hastings - at the time she married.

Nothing more is currently known of her.

Her children by John Crampe

An internet ancestral file states that Richard was christened at Westfield on January 1st 1749, that Ann was christened there on July 21st 1851, that Ann married Samuel Goodsall at St. James Church, Ewhurst in East Sussex on February 28th 1775 [IGI: Batch M148041] and that she and Samuel produced nine children, all born at Ewhurst.
