Brief biography

Earl George (2) Woodhurst was born in Pulaski, Jackson Co., Michigan on October 14th 1920 to parents Walter (1) Woodhurst and his first wife Grace Curtis.

His WW2 Draft Registration Card was issued in about 1941-42 when he was residing in Homer Road, Concord, Jackson Co. He was working for an employer named as Claud Smith.

He enlisted for military service with Service No. 36187958 at Kalamazoo on July 29th 1942 and described his occupation as a retail manager. He had had two years of high school education.

He was known familiarly by the nickname "Chick".

He first married in Jackson City on July 6th 1946 to Audrey Lorraine (nee) Steinkraus and by her produced the three children listed below. Audrey was the daughter of Ludwig ("Louis") Steinkraus (born October 12th 1891) and his wife Ada Matilda Bush (born April 8th 1892); Audrey had first married on November 11th 1939 to Harold David Reiter by whom she produced the two children listed below; she had divorced him at Kalamazoo, the decree dated June 27th 1946.

In the 1950s they were living in Concord and Earl George (2) was working as a machine operator for Teer Wickwire & Co.

Earl George (2)'s marriage to Audrey did not endure. In 1962 he remarried to Donna Belle (nee Eagan) Wirebaugh, who already had six children.

Audrey died from pancreatic cancer on January 27th 1979.

Donna died in June 1989 according to the American Social Security Death Index. The record states that she was born on August 13th 1926 and that when she died she had been residing in Concord.

On July 14th 1990 Earl George (2) married a widow Lois Jean (nee Fauser). She was born to parents Grover Fauser and his wife Murtle on April 4th 1923. She had first married Duane F. Bowersox on September 23rd 1942. Duane had died in 1987.

In 1993 they were living at 540, Hanover Street in Concord.

The obituary of Earl George (2)'s sister Marian Marie indicates that he and Lois Jean were living at Homer, Michigan in 2003.

Lois Jean died aged "85" from diabetes and kidney disease on March 3rd 2009. One obituary for her reads as follows:

Lois Jean FAUSER Bowersox Woodhurst April 4, 1923 - March 3, 2009 Age 85 of Homer, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 surrounded by family at her home in Homer. Lois lost her 7 year courageous battle against diabetes and kidney disease. She was born April 4, 1923 in Battle Creek to the late Grover and Myrtle (Kidder) Fauser, and the late Art Hoaglin, step-father. Lois married Duane F. Bowersox on September 23, 1942, where they lived in Homer until he preceded her in death in 1987. On July 14, 1990, Lois joined in marriage with Earl Woodhurst. Earl was her rock during the hard times of dialysis, traveling with her three days a week and sitting by her side during her illnesses and was with her till the end of her fight. ... Lois worked at the Toy Factory for 4 years, and then she became employed with Homer School System as a kitchen employee. ... Her hobbies included bowling, crossword puzzles, traveling and most of all spending time with her family. Lois was a VFW life member and a former member of the Homer Presbyterian Church. Burial Albion Memory Gardens.

Earl George (2) died in Concord on December 17th 2015. His memorial, following cremation, is in the Maple Grove Cemetery there.

Kenneth Walter married Carol Ann by whom he produced two sons Brian Earl and Mark Charles.
