Eliza (2) Woodhurst was born in 1853 to parents Alfred (1) Woodhurst and his first wife Matilda Bathurst. The birth certificate [Birth Index: Bethnal Green 1c 257, 1853 (June)] states that she was born at her parents' home at 5, James Street in Bethnal Green on May 19th 1853. The informant was her mother, and her father's occupation was given as dyer.

She died in 1855. The death certificate [Death Index: Bethnal Green 1c 211, 1855 (March)] states that she died aged 1 on February 11th 1855 at her parents' address, which had now become 8, James Street in Bethnal Green. The cause of death was certified as "teething 1 week, convulsions 3 days". The informant, who simply made his 'X' mark and was present at the death, was her father, occupied as a willow platter journeyman. He registered the death on February 16th.

She was buried on February 19th at St. James the Less in Bethnal Green, the register giving her address as Raven(s)croft, 8, St. James Street and her age as 1 year and 10 months. Hers was just one of 18 burials there on that day.
