The last will and testament of George (1) Janes was made by him on December 18th 1817 and left his estate primarily to his wife and sons. It was witnessed by Stephen Duke, John Hutchens and Thomas Chittenden whose connections are unknown. He died probably in 1819 and the will was proved before a judge in London on September 17th 1819 by his executors James Janes (his oldest surviving son), Philip Boghurst and Daniel Baldorf.

George (1) was the father of George (2) Janes, the first husband of Rebecca (2) Woodhurst. George (2) had died by the time the will was made, but among its provisions was a conditional bequest that 10 pounds be paid to his and Rebecca (2)'s young daughter Rebecca Janes.
