Graydon Woodhurst was born in Michigan on February 10th 1915 to parents Ralph A. Woodhurst and his first wife, whose name is currently unknown.
He is believed to have married Letha Wave Platz. A RootsWeb/WorldConnect file states that Letha's foster-parents were John Platz and his second wife Susan ("Polly") Adele Shreve. Letha was born around 1913.
Another internet file - Descendants of Matthew Redding - records that Susan Adele was born at Coolspring Township, LaPorte County in Indiana on November 9th 1882, being the last of six children born to Richard J. Shreve (born October 18th 1840) and his wife Theresa ("Thursa") Ann Redding (born December 28th 1843), who had married in LaPorte County in mid-September 1862. Platz (1854-1915) and his wife Sarah A. Imus (1852-1908) and that he first married on August 28th 1901 to Edith Rinard, by whom he produced five or six children in Buchanan, Michigan.
On March 6th 1942 the South Bend Tribune published an obituary for Mrs. Violet Maxson Stroup (born at Buchanan, Michigan on June 10th 1911) who had died the day before at age 30 following childbirth. It describes her as the foster-daughter of "Mr. and Mrs. John Platz" and as having three surviving "sisters" living at South Bend, including "Letha Woodhurst".
At age 17 Graydon produced the son William listed below. It is not known whether he fathered any other children.
He and his wife were living at Lantana in Florida when their son died in 1978.
