The US 1900 Census finds her at age "7" living with just her mother and her 13-year-old brother Charles Grant in Denver City, Arapahoe County in Colorado. Her birthdate is given as August 1892. Her (absent) father is described as born in Missouri. Her mother is described as born in Ohio in June 1860, aged 39 and married for 18 years, having produced just two children.
The US 1920 Census finds her living with her mother at Tolona, Champaign County in Illinois, in the household of her aunt Ellen A. Jordan. The full record has not yet been extracted.
She married in 1920 to Albert A. Polk of Seymour who was then aged "33". She was then living in Urbana. The marriage application was dated February 24th 1920 [Application No. 7169 (1920)].
Her obituary was printed in the April 3rd 1973 edition of The News-Gazette and gives her date of birth as August 6th 1892.
