Matthew (2) Fryer was born of parents William (2) Fryer and his wife Mary. He was christened at Chislet, Kent on June 5th 1768 [IGI: Film 537475]. About all that is known of him comes from the IGI.
He married Susanna(h) Smith in the Parish of St. Mary at Minster, Thanet on October 19th 1793 [IGI: Batch 8501032]. They produced at least six children, mostly at Chislet [IGI: Films 537475, 537564 and Batches 8501834, 9017534].
The 1841 Census finds him widowed and living with his son Robert among the family of his son-in-law William (3) Woodhurst at Buckland Bottom in Buckland, Dover. He was occupied then as a labourer.
Nothing more is known of him.
