Myrtle S. Woodhurst was born in 1889 to parents Robert Cook Woodhurst and his wife Ann Eliza Jane Slaughter.
The US 1900 Census finds her at age 10 living with her parents in Salt River township, Ralls County in Missouri and gives her birthdate as September 1889.
Descendants report the following. She was born in September 1889 at Monroe City in Monroe County, Missouri. She was known familiarly as "Aunt Sis" or as "Eva" (a name she adopted for herself, perhaps disliking her given name). She married Elbert B. Hicklin at Perry in Ralls County on December 17th 1908. Elbert's father was T.B. Hicklin. She and Elbert produced a son Alva who was born at Perry in 1909 and who died at San Leandro in Alameda County, California. Myrtle died at San Leandro on February 19th 1982 and was buried at Hayward in that county on February 22nd.
