Brief biography

Paul (1) Woodhurst was born at Milton Lodge, Fleetwood, Lancashire on November 5th 1958 to parents Alfred James Alan Woodhurst and his wife Sylvia (nee) Chadwick. The GRO reference is [Birth Index: Fylde 10c 352, 1958 (Dec)].

He spent his early years living at 23, Cookson Road, Thornton-Cleveleys with his parents and brother Gary (1), and attended the Church Road Primary School.

On Feburary 8th 1966, when he was 7 years old, he emigrated with his family on the Holland America ship S.S. Ryndam to Australia. On arriving there, he spent about the first five weeks living at Gumnut Road at West Pennant Hills, New South Wales where he attended the West Pennant Hills Primary School. Later, with his parents and brother, he moved to 24, Heffron Road in Seven Hills and resumed his schooling at the Lalor Park Primary School. He left there at the end of 1970 and spent the remainder of his schooldays at the Seven Hills High School. He then took up an apprenticeship as a welder with Hasting Deering, and at the end of his apprenticeship he began his trade with Custom Coaches.

When aged about 20 he met Pauline Anne Alice Bassett, the eldest daughter of Fredrick Bassett and his wife Marie. She was born at Parramatta Hospital on October 22nd 1958 [NSW GRO Birth Ref: 63462, 1958]. They married on February 28th 1981 at the Church of St. Margaret Mary, Merrylands in New South Wales [NSW GRO Marriage Ref: NSW 8537, 1981].

Their first child Daniel Fred Alan was born at Westmead Hospital on September 12th 1984 [NSW GRO Birth Ref: 4358, 1984], and their second child Anthony Paul was also born there on October 16th 1987 [NSW GRO Birth Ref: 56878, 1987].

Early in their marriage they lived at Lethbridge Park, in western Sydney, and then moved to 37, William Street in Holroyd, another suburb near Parramatta, where they still reside.
