Roy Lee Woodhurst was born on December 6th 1936 at Perry in Ralls Co., Missouri to parents Walter Willie Woodhurst and his wife Velma Mae Hopke.
The US 1940 Census finds him aged "3" living with his parents in Salt River, Ralls Co.
An article published on Friday December 5th 1952 in the Mexico Evening Ledger for Mexico in Missouri reported an accident that happened to him on the preceding Monday. It states:
"Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Bannister have been visiting of evenings the bedside of her brother, Roy Lee Woodhurst at St. Elizabeth hospital. Roy Lee fell into the power wood saw and received a severe cut in the back of his head by the saw Monday morning. This happened while his father, Walter Woodhurst, was at the house. They were cutting wood into stove lengths."
The above-mentioned visitors were Walter Willie's daughter Darline Mary and her husband. Their home was apparently where the accident occurred.
In December 1958 he married Sharon Liedtke at Rock Island.
He raised his family in East Moline, Illinois, and worked as a welder for twenty years at William and White & Co.
He died aged "66" from cancer on October 22nd 2003 and was buried on October 25th at the Western Township Cemetery in Orion, East Moline. The American Social Security Death Index gives his place of residence as 61282 Silvis, Rock Island in Illinois and his SSN as 497-42-0602. His obituary was published in The Moline Dispatch.
Rodney Alan is believed to have married Kristine Ann Heilwagner, daughter of Raymond Heilwagner (born March 10th 1942) and Patricia Buchholtz, and to have produced by her a daughter Amber Rose Woodhurst.
Dawn R. married into the Teager surname at East Moline on July 11th 1987.
