Brief biography

Sarah (1) Woodhurst was christened on May 2nd 1830 to parents Andrew (4) Woodhurst and his wife Ann [Ore Parish Register].

The 1841 Census finds her at age "12", named Sarah "Woodhouse", living at Morralls Farm, Whatlington in Sussex in the household of her married sister Ann (3).

The 1851 Census finds her at age "21", now named Sarah Woodhurst, living at 7, Upper Harley Street in Marylebone, London in the household of a magistrate Edmund Pepys, where she was occupied as a servant.

In 1854 she married as Sarah "Woodhouse" to Thomas Cranshaw [Marriage Index: Marylebone 1a 795, 1854 (June)]. He was born in Dorset around 1825-26.

The 1861 Census finds her at age "31" living with Thomas and their daughter Caroline at 95, Star Street in Paddington, where Thomas was occupied as a lodging house keeper.

Nothing more is currently known of her.
