    He was baptized at Fairlight on August 23rd 1790 as the 7th child of William Woodhams and Mary (nee Oakes)
    who had married at Udimore on October 16th 1774. It is not known when he married Philadelphia.
    She was buried at Udimore on February 5th 1847 aged '57'. The 1851 Census finds Jesse there as a 
    widowed farm bailiff aged '60', and he was buried there on June 11th 1871 aged '82'.
