William (4) Woodus was born to parents William (1) Woodus and his wife Susannah. He was christened on February 23rd 1744 [Fairlight Parish Register].
He is believed to have been the "William Woodust" who married Mary (1) Foster on April 15th 1770 [Pett Parish Register].
His daughter Mary (6) died in infancy and was buried on November 14th 1772, and his wife appears to have died shortly before that, being buried on September 10th 1772 [Pett Parish Register].
He remarried on August 2nd 1784 to Alice Brook [Pett Parish Register]. In the register he is described as a widower and she as a widow. Her maiden name is not known.
Alice - named as Alice "Woodhurst" - was buried at Pett on November 14th 1802 [Pett Parish Register].
William (4) was buried there aged "71" on March 22nd 1816, although the register indicates that he had been living in Fairlight [Pett Parish Register].
